THE DINO JUNIOR KAYAK

Many centres and clubs face the problem of finding kayaks suitable for younger paddlers.  Adult kayaks are heavy, difficult to control, too wide for short arms and whilst youngsters may have fun, are they learning good technique?  Is it an ideal way to introduce youngsters to our sport?

 The DINO is a kayak designed specifically for paddlers between 6 and 9 year olds and offers them a great paddling experience through being the right size and weight for them to handle easily.

The boat is: length 293cm, width 53cm, weight 9.0-9.8kg. Being in a boat that is built for them, youngsters are more comfortable, have better control and learn good technique making them more likely to stick with canoeing and having a great time.

It is available in several different constructions but we offer a “club construction”. This constitutes our normal “diolen construction” of epoxy resin, E-glass/diolen fabric, 2 sq meters of SGL carbon/Kevlar fabric under the seat and stiffening ribs in the hull, outside Kevlar and inside diolen seam, hard foam (Styrodur) pillars but with an additional layer of diolen for added toughness.

The kayak is available separately, but we are offering a great package that includes: Dino kayak with rear air bags, a Galasport Bee junior paddle and Yak Kurve junior Buoyancy Aid.
